Draw
a rectangle

Draw a triangle

From
the top of the vertical line, a horizontal line to the right Neck divided

Connect the right of the horizontal line and the bottom
of the vertical line
From the right angle, draw a 45 degree line down
and to the right, connecting with your angled side
Piece 3
Draw
a slightly modified rectangle
Draw a vertical line belly button to shoulder
long
From the top of that line, draw a horizontal line to the right arm
length long
From the right of that line, draw a vertical line down 8”-10”
long (depending on preference)
From the bottom of that line draw a horizontal
line back to the left to meet.
From the bottom of the first vertical
line, measure up waistline to under bust and mark the point
Draw a line
up 45 degrees to the right, connecting with the bottom of the sleeve.
The
final step in all pieces is to draw out your seam allowance around the circumference
of all of the pieces.
- Laying out the pattern
On 22” fabric
the pattern may lay out like this depending on the specific sizes of the
pattern pieces.
On 45” or 60” fabric, you will need to move around to
fit.
Piece 1: cut 4
Piece 2: cut 2
Piece 3:
cut 2 of the whole sleeve (layout so that you cut the whole shape)
- Sewing the pattern together.
Sew a Piece
2 to the right side of a Piece 1.
Sew a Piece 2 to the left side of
a Piece 1
Put right sides of these together and sew the Piece 2’s together.
Sew the remaining Piece 1’s to the already sewn Piece 1’s at the shoulder.
Sew the Piece 3s to the body, matching the centerline of piece 3 to
the shoulder seam.
Fold the front and back down at the shoulder
and sew the side seams and bottom of the sleeves together.
Finish edges
as usual.
